Meira Pomerantz has lived in Fort Lee, New Jersey for more than forty years. Growing up in Chicago she attended classes at the School of the Art Institute, became a fine arts major at University of Illinois, moved east to explore the possibilities of New York City and continue doing art for many years through self-discovery. Later attaining both a BS and MA in teaching from CCNY though making art was always a part of her life. After retiring from a career as a special educator she pursues printmaking, watercolor and other media. Meira has been acknowledged with a number of awards. She was honored as a New Jersey Emerging Artist in 2019-2020 where she was awarded a solo exhibit by the Monmouth Museum. Since then she has participated in numerous exhibits in New Jersey and beyond.
